Hunters that travel to Northwest Ontario's Sunset Country to deer hunt can expect to see quality deer in a unique setting – the forests are multi-dimensional with plenty of coniferous pines and deciduous birch and poplars. Large-bodied and heavy-racked, whitetail deer in Sunset Country were not always prolific. It was not until the mid-90's that deer populations really began to explode, making hunting trips to Ontario an annual tradition for many. Over the course of a five or six day hunt, hunters can to see many bucks in the 130”-140”range. Those who really put in time, and have luck on their side, may cross paths with trophy bucks in the 150” plus range! Since 2005, numerous whitetails gross scoring in the 180”, 190” and even 200” range have been documented across the region.
